Time for the delayed squealing about Chris Issak! The man is just an absolutely amazing performer, I can't believe it took me this long to go and see him in concert. I was in the first row of the second level so I had a pretty good view. He first came out onstage wearing a blue suit and soon discarded the jacket to reveal a black see-through shirt, but much to the dismay of the ladies in the audience he was wearing a white singlet underneath! Later on he changed into the famous mirror-ball suit, unfortunately I didn't get a photo as my camera battery thought midway through the concert was an appropriate time to start dying! Anyway he was on stage for almost two hours and played all the classics plus a few songs off the new album, highlight for me was definitely hearing him sing Wicked Game, one of my favourite songs of all time.
At one point he got a group of women from the audience to come up on stage and dance behind him, one fortunate woman got an up close and personal hip-swivelling lesson from Chris (and boy does he do it well! *faints*) He asked her a question but all she could reply with was "oh my god you're hot!" and touched his face. Can't blame her! Then he disappeared off stage and suddenly appeared up on the first level! He ran up the stairs to the cheap seats and continued playing and singing before running back down and getting back on stage. He also showcased his drum-playing ability towards the end of the show while Kenny sang a song. It was just a fantastic concert and I can't wait for him to come out again, next time I'll definitely be trying to get a prime position down the front somewhere!
After the show he was going to come out a sign some autographs for people so I made my way back down to the foyer, it was just a madhouse! They'd set up this squared area which was just surrounded by people coming from all directions, they really should try and come up with a better system next time. I managed to push my way through the crowd with my camera in one hand and CD in the other, eventually making it up to the front. He stopped in front of me to sign someone's t-shirt and I was running through in my head what I wanted to say to him when he got to me, as you do, but then he looked up at me and smiled and said hello in that amazing voice of his and I just died. I managed to say hello but then conscious thought just flew out the window, the overwhelming hotness of him up close was just .. well overwhelming! He is so divine!! *sigh* I got him to sign the inside cover of my "Always Got Tonight" CD and managed to regain my speech long enough to blurt out thank you :)
Okay I think that's enough squealing! Here's a few photos from the concert itself and the signing afterwards ..( Chris Issak ..Collapse )
And I just went to check out this wicked concert photos website and discovered they've got a ton of close-up photos of Chris from the concert for sale. I'm going to try and restrain myself, but I have to get at least a couple .. like the hip-swivelling one .. and the sweaty one .. and the smiling one .. *dies* Ahem, don't mind me I'm fine :)
